Learn to swim

Learn to swim programs play a vital role in community wellbeing, with early childhood classes laying the foundation for lifelong safety and confidence in the water. Infant and toddler classes focus on water familiarisation through gentle, play-based learning with a parent or guardian in the pool. These sessions help children develop comfort and coordination in the water while fostering trust and bonding. Introducing water safety from a young age not only builds essential skills but also promotes healthy physical development and sensory learning in a calm, structured environment.

Aqua aerobics

Aquatic fitness programs offer inclusive, low-impact exercise options that support physical health, mental wellbeing, and community connection—especially for older adults. Aqua aerobics, for example, provides a fun and social way to stay active, using water resistance to build cardiovascular fitness and muscular endurance without placing stress on joints. These group sessions are especially popular among the over-50s, offering a safe and effective workout for individuals managing arthritis, injury, or reduced mobility. The shared experience encourages participation and promotes a sense of belonging within the group.

Swim Squads

We are proud to actively support the growth and success of our local swimming and aquatic sporting clubs. At Emerald Aquatic Centre, we offer two swim squad options:
– Emerald Aquatic Squad, led by our own qualified swim coaches.
– Emerald Seals Swim Club squad sessions, for those wishing to train with the local club.

Swimmers are welcome to choose the option that best suits their goals and training needs.

Carnivals

Our pool proudly supports local education by providing a flexible and inclusive venue for swim carnivals and school bookings, helping schools deliver high-quality physical education and promote water safety from a young age. We regularly host school sports events such as inter-house and inter-school swimming carnivals, giving students the opportunity to represent their school, build team spirit, and experience the excitement of competitive sport in a professionally managed aquatic environment. These events are not only a highlight of the school calendar but also a chance for children to celebrate personal achievements and support their peers.
